There’s a few key things you need to know and understand about Pinterest. First off, it’s not a “fast platform” by any means. It takes time and consistency to build that growth. But there are some metrics you can look at, to see how closer you are getting to traffic and sales.

How to know if you’re close to more Pinterest traffic and sales

We typically see Pinterest accounts grow in 3 phases.

When you’ll start seeing Pinterest traffic.

Let’s talk about the first thing you’re probably wondering — traffic. Pinterest can feel like it’s taking forever to get traction. But here’s the truth: traffic won’t show up overnight.

The good news? You’ll start to see impressions first. These are the views your Pins are getting across Pinterest. They fall inline with “monthly views”. It’s your first sign that your content is starting to reach people. This is great news!

Impressions are your indicator that the algorithm is showing your content to users. But what happens after that?

I’ve not pin impressions, now what?

After seeing an uptick in pin impressions, you’ll start to see more pin saves and clicks. When users engage with your pins by saving them to their boards or clicking through to your site, that’s when you’re starting to see actual traffic.

But what if you’re impressions but NOT seeing saves, clicks and traffic. That’s because there’s a break in the chain. This could be from a few different things. The main ones are: your keywords are off, you don’t have the right niche, or it could be as simple as your pin titles.

The MOST COMMON thing I see, is pinners getting impressions and traffic from the wrong topic of what they are actaully trying to sell. It seems silly, but it happens all the time.

Take a few minutes today to review your sales page or funnel. Is it clear and compelling? Does it speak directly to the pain points of your audience? Make sure your call-to-action (CTA) is crystal clear, and that your opt-in process is easy to follow.
